Service places in Helsinki

Dada Rasatmakananda visited places that he had in his mind for the service activities in Helsinki. These services have been highlighted in the Oodi library front yard through events and presentations. He found their office addresses and spoke with them.

Comrades in Extinction: The organizer will send the contact of the event in August where a 15-meter tower was built, consisting of images of extinct animals, facing the parliament building of Helsinki. For Radha D’Souza and Jonas Staal, the artists of the project, these animals are non-human comrades: martyrs of the climate catastrophe and part of our struggle for living worlds for all. Read more

Asunnottomien Yö (The night of the homeless) on Ratamestarinkatu 6, Itä-Pasila, Dada will meet the contact person after he comes back from Stockholm. The night of the homeless is a civic movement that supports everyone’s right to their own home, i.e. to a permanent apartment. Homeless Night events are held in several locations each year, mostly during the day and evening of October 17, which is the United Nations International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Aseman Lapset (Children of the Station) on Annankatu 26A, Kamppi, have a wonderful team and they are happy to receive volunteers in any of their service activities. Aseman Lapset ry supports the healthy growth of children and young people and natural interaction with adults. They work not only with children and young people, but also with their close circle, and they want to influence society so that it becomes one that improves the well-being of young people. Aseman Lapset, founded in 1990, is a politically and religiously independent national organization. Read more
